Our multidisciplinary team works together to deliver the best care possible in an environment that is welcoming for children from infancy to adolescence. This is a temporary only position to support our clinical staff for roughly 6 months** What you will do: You will play a meaningful role in supporting providers and patients during their clinic visits. Monitoring clinic schedules, greeting and guiding patients to their examination room, and collecting pertinent medical information for their health records. Act as valued partner in delivering an outstanding patient experience by coordinating and communicating with other members of the health care team, including nursing staff, advanced practice providers, and physicians, among others. Depending on scope of certification or license, some employees will be assisting with minor in office procedures, giving injections and immunizations and other laboratory/sample collections. What you will need: As an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) : NREMT & MN EMT certification As a Medical Assistant (MA) : Possess a Medical Assistant Diploma with proof of completion of a 160-hour externship OR hold AAMA Certification OR AMT Registration. The Ambulatory Divisional Registered Nurse provides, develops, coordinates, and manages clinical duties related to the specific service line division. JOB PURPOSE: The Registered Nurse Care Coordinator promotes the mission and vision of El Rio Health through collaborative interdisciplinary teamwork to provide high quality nursing care, patient safety and care coordination in order to optimize health and minimize the use of tertiary care services. Equivalent knowledge, experience, education, or training may be substituted for education. Must have participated in 30 hours every 2 years continuing education in nursing in general, 16 of which are in the specific area of practice. Minimum Experience Qualification Specific experience may be required for each work area. MINIMUM CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATION Current registered nurse license in the State of Alaska. Current Basic Life Support card required. All other certifications as required for specific work area: New Employees must obtain the required certifications within six months of hire; New graduates must obtain the required certifications within 18 months of hire; Contract and MOA employees must come to us with the required training completed as outlined in their individual contracts/MOAs, and must be licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Alaska and remain active with all annual licensing requirements. Preferred Education Qualification A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred. Preferred Certification Qualification National certification is preferred. Knowledge of Alaskan culture. Knowledge of nursing theorists and ability to provide theory based care for patients. Knowledge of shared governance environment with shared-decision making.
