Acts as a resource, lead, and clinical role model for the patient care team. Advances and oversees patient care standards of the unit for the designated shift. Facilitates and coordinates patient care delivery and flow through the continuum of care. She/he carries out the responsibilities of the Nurse Manager in her/his absence with guidance from the Administrative Director. The Assistant Nurse Manager participates in hiring and evaluation of staff. The Assistant Nurse Manager collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective operations of the nursing unit. She/he supports nursing professional development, Magnet, and Shared Governance through participation in, and mentoring of colleagues, on councils and the Clinical Ladder program. Qualifications for this position include: Bachelor’s degree in nursing required; Master’s degree preferred. Professional/leadership certification preferred (for example CNOR, CEN, NE-BC, other) within 2 years of hire and 2+ years acute care experience required; experience in a similar or ‘like’ unit is preferred. Demonstrated leadership and management potential. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice; BLS required based on organizational guidelines/polices.
