We serve persons who are experiencing a severe psychiatric crisis and in need of an inpatient setting for safety, care and treatment to stabilize the immediate crisis. Treatment is individualized and quality care is provided that best suits the needs of our patients. There is an emphasis on maintaining safety, medication stabilization and the development of individualized coping skills in response to the crisis. You will support your main unit, but be cross-trained in all four units. Varying shifts available in the following units: Adult Psych Unit - We are a 26 bed Inpatient Adult Psych unit caring for the stabilization of acute symptoms of the psychiatrically impaired population. During the course of admission, we address acute psychiatric intervention and facilitate discharge planning to facilitate safe transitions to the next level of care or return to the community. The patients we serve frequently have comorbid medical and/or substance use illnesses. We are supported by an interdisciplinary team comprised of psychiatrists, NPP, clinicians, nurses and patient care technicians. We also work collaboratively with a covering Medical Group and all specialties are available to us by consult. Senior/Geriatric Psych Unit – This is a 20 bed unit. This unit addresses the medical and psychiatric needs of aging patients experiencing mental health and substance abuse problems. The unit is not designed to treat a primary diagnosis of dementia. Treatment of mental health issues in seniors requires careful attention to co-existing medical illnesses that are common to this population. Treatment and discharge planning focuses on helping patients remain in the most independent living environment possible after discharge. Patients admitted to this unit are typically 55 years of age or older, although patients under 55 may be admitted if they are in need of acute psychiatric treatment and have medical complications that may prohibit them from being admitted to the Adult Mental Health Unit or MICA Unit. MICA (Mentally Ill/Chemically Addicted ) - This unit is a 14 bed unit. Drug addiction rehab program to help people suffering from both mental illness and substance abuse. Treating the two disorders as well as their interaction. The needs of the mentally ill/chemically addicted (MICA) client are unique. Our specialized MICA services, designed specifically for the dually diagnosed individual, are flexible to accommodate individuals with varying functional levels. CRISIS ER - Crisis is a 6 bed, locked unit within the emergency department. Patients are evaluated during a mental health crisis for safety to determine whether or not they require admission to one of our inpatient Behavioral Health units or can be safely discharged back into the community with outpatient support. Patients are referred to Crisis through the main emergency department or brought directly to Crisis via police or ambulance. We serve patients through adolescence to geriatrics.
