The Division of Neonatology is comprised of 18 faculty members, 2 advanced practitioners and 6 neonatal-perinatal medicine fellows. Our faculty work in three Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs), St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, Phoenixville Hospital and Temple University Hospital. Our faculty are involved with training St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellows, pediatric residents and Drexel University College of Medicine and Temple University College of Medicine students. St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children has a 39 bed Level IV NICU, which offers the highest level of care to critically ill neonates. The qualified candidate will work solely in the St. Christopher’s Hospital level IV NICU. They will work closely with the 8 faculty members who work in the St. Chris NICU, as well as the neonatal-perinatal medicine fellows and pediatric residents. The NICU is referral-based, without a delivery service. We have a multi-specialty team to help care for these complex patients, including a neonatal nutritionist, clinical pharmacist, social workers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists and 80 bedside nurses, as well as the full range of pediatric and surgical sub-specialists. St. Chris NICU has approximately 200 admission each year. The division has a strong commitment to quality improvement work and participates in the Children’s Hospital Neonatal Consortium and the Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia network.
