Keep physician preference cards accurate and updated. Retain all specimens for pathology, confirming source and name with the surgeon. Transport surgical equipment to cleaning areas and assist with instrument reprocessing. Interact professionally and effectively with patients, visitors, and healthcare team members. Follow Standard Universal Precautions, infection control protocols, and safety guidelines. Serve as a resource to other members of the healthcare team. Maintain required certifications such as CPR. Uses Standard Universal Precautions, appropriate hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, and safe practices to ensure personal safety and a safe environment. Assists with environmental hazard and infection control surveillance and participates in emergency preparedness drills.
