IntelyCare, Inc. (“IntelyCare”) is committed to providing a higher standard of service and the delivery of safe, quality patient care. IntelyCare complies with The Joint Commission’s Standards for Health Care Staffing Services. As our customer, you can be confident that IntelyCare’s processes ensure that the supplemental staff (hereafter “Assigned Providers”) placed in your organization meet the requirements established by The Joint Commission.
To assure compliance with the Joint Commission Standards for Health Care Staffing Services, IntelyCare provides the customer with this written description of the following service features:
1. Subcontractors
IntelyCare will not engage subcontractors to provide Assigned Providers unless agreed to in advance by the customer.
2. Floating
Assigned Providers may only be placed in assignments that match the job description and competencies for which IntelyCare has assigned them. If an Assigned Provider is asked to float to another department or unit, the department/unit must be comparable (like department or unit) with similar clinical diagnoses and acuities. The Assigned Provider must have demonstrated previous competency and possess the appropriate certifications and credentials for that area.
3. Competency Review
It is the responsibility of IntelyCare to conduct and document a pre-employment competency assessment for each Assigned Provider through completion of a competency assessment and applicable skills checklist(s).
It is the responsibility of the customer to cooperate in the review and evaluation of each Assigned Provider’s performance, including the provider’s ability to perform specific job functions. IntelyCare relies on timely feedback from the customer to accurately assess and re-assess the ongoing competence of Assigned Providers.
4. Orientation of Providers
IntelyCare will provide all Assigned Providers with an orientation to IntelyCare’s policies and procedures.
It shall be the responsibility of the customer to orient Assigned Providers to the facility, its rules and regulations, physical layout, equipment, and facility-specific policies and procedures (including dress code), and to validate the Assigned Provider’s competency in the proper use of equipment.
5. Employees and Assigned Providers
As the provider of staffing services, IntelyCare will be the employer of Assigned Providers. IntelyCare will only utilize its own employees and does not use independent contractors to provide supplemental staffing services.
6. Incident, Error, and Tracking System
Upon notification of incidents and/or errors, IntelyCare shall document, track, and analyze all incidents, including errors, sentinel events, injuries, and safety hazards related to the care and services provided by Assigned Providers. Information gathered may be shared and reported appropriately to customers, regulatory bodies, and The Joint Commission as required.
7. Communicating Occupational Safety Hazards/Events and Complaints
It is the responsibility of the customer to notify the IntelyCare within 24 hours of any competency issues, incidents, injuries, safety hazards, or complaints related to an Assigned Provider. The customer agrees to initiate communication with Intelycare whenever an incident/injury report involving an Assigned Provider is completed.
8. Requirements for Staff Specified
IntelyCare is responsible for supplying Assigned Providers who have the documented competencies, credentials, health screenings, education, and experience necessary to satisfy applicable law, regulation, and customer requirements in order to deliver safe care to the populations served.
9. Conflicts of Interest
IntelyCare identifies and discloses conflicts of interest to its clients to the best of its ability. When conflicts arise, IntelyCare discloses them to the affected client(s).
IntelyCare prohibits its corporate employees from accepting gifts (other than those of nominal value) or allowing payment on their behalf of any travel, living, or entertainment expenses by any person or organization currently doing business with, or seeking to do business with, IntelyCare, unless approved by the client involved.
10. Staff Matching Requirements
IntelyCare shall verify each Assigned Provider’s licensure, certification, education, work experience, and competencies, as applicable, to ensure they match the requirements of the assignment and comply with applicable laws, regulations, and customer requirements.
