How you’ll make an impact in this role Demonstrate expert proficiency in the setup, assembly, and intraoperative handling of specialized instrumentation, including power surgical drills, oscillating saws, spinal fusion sets, and complex fixation hardware (screws, plates, and rods). Maintain a rigorous sterile field throughout high-volume surgical schedules, ensuring the integrity of implants and prosthetics while anticipating the surgeon’s needs during Total Joint Arthroplasty (TJA) and minimally invasive spine procedures. Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients. Facilitate rapid room turnover in a fast-paced ambulatory setting by expertly decontaminating specialty sets and collaborating with the sterile processing department to ensure all specific "doctor-preference" implants and disposables are staged and ready. What minimum requirements you’ll need Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted required. One or more of the following required: Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Position Summary To assist surgeons and registered nurses by performing routine, technical, and related duties during surgical operations. Job Summary The Surgical Technician First Assist provides direct support to surgeons during surgical procedures, ensuring efficient operative and invasive procedures by maintaining the sterile field, providing necessary instruments and supplies, and assisting in critical surgical tasks. Surgical Technologist/Scrub Tech at Roswell Surgery Center The Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. Maintains a sterile field during surgical procedures. Prepares supplies, instruments, and equipment related to these procedures. Supports the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center. Supports and participates in quality improvement activities.
