Job Summary To assist surgical team at the Von Voigtlander Women?s Hospital operating rooms during operative procedures, by preparing sterile equipment for the operation and passing instruments, sponges and sutures to the operating team. Assist with inventory, sterilization of instruments, prepare and select equipment for procedures, transfer of patients as needed, turnover and transfer of instruments to CSR/Decontamination and putting equipment back in place. Must be accepted into an accredited Surgical Technologist program within six (6) months of hire . 1-year current experience working as a surgical tech. Desired Qualifications* Current experience in the care of the in-patient our outpatient perinatal mother and/or newborn, or with OB/GYN surgical experience. Completion of a Nurse Aide or Medical Assistant program with a minimum of 6 months of current experience in an unlicensed assistive role in an acute in-patient setting or 12 months. Basic computer skills. Certification as a Surgical Technician through NBSTSA. Work Schedule Night Shift: 1900-0730, (12-hour shifts). Weekend availability. Position Summary The Surgical Technologist is an integral member of the patient care team.
