We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time, Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) to join our Ramapo Ridge Behavioral Health (RRBH) and Gracepoint Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Program. The APN will work with behavioral health clients with co-morbidities of trauma and/or substance abuse use disorders. Ramapo Ridge Behavioral Health Hospital is newly renovated state-of-the-art behavioral health care settings. They are bright, cheerful and filled with positive affirmations and evidenced based innovative therapeutic offerings. Gracepoint is a voluntary, short-term partial-hospital program for patients who need comprehensive treatment but do not require hospitalization. Personalized treatment plans include individual and group psychotherapy. Demonstrates an understanding of, and embraces, the mission statement of the Christian Health. Schedule: Monday – Friday 10am – 6pm. Minimum of one weekend per month on-call required. Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited MSN program. Licensure: Current valid New Jersey APN and RN licensure required. Experience: Board certified in psychiatry preferred. Will consider previous experience as a APN board certified in addiction and/or trauma. Previous experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse in a medical and/or mental health setting strongly preferred. Provide end-of-shift sign out to nursing and medical staff. Make rounds to ensure that all residents are seen at least one time per shift. In partnership with nurse supervisor, take active role in education, support, and guidance of staff. Meet with parents, physicians, other staff, and/or administration as needed. Maintain knowledge base through continuing professional education programs and provide documentation to medical staff office. About this role The Nurse Practitioner (NP) under the supervision of the Site Medical Director and other site Physicians, offers a comprehensive range of medical services to incarcerated patients in accordance with established policy and state guidelines. They ensure necessary documentation of services is provided to the Site Medical Director or designee to monitor the provision of clinical services. Additionally, they communicate scheduling changes to the Medical Director and H.S.A. and make arrangements for coverage of medical services if unavailable for an extended period of time. What you bring to the table Education A graduate of an accredited school of nursing An advanced degree in an approved and accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Experience Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience and corrections experience is preferred. Must have the patience and tact to deal with the inmate patient population and ability to work effectively in the corrections environment. Scheduling flexibility is also required to be able to rotate hours and shifts, if needed, and to be called during emergency situations to provide coverage. Licenses/Certifications Must have and maintain current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner within the state of employment. Must have and maintain current CPR certification. What you will do Conducts routine and emergency medical care for inmates, including chronic care clinics, infirmary rounds, and emergency treatment on-site. Adheres to established policies and procedures for medical care, including documentation in SOAP format, adherence to formulary regimens, and utilizing available in-house resources for treatment. Assumes responsibility and accountability for individual judgments and actions, while also reporting any concerns or questions to the Medical Director or Health Services Administrator. Maintains patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with accepted practices for incarcerated individuals. Provides input into facility mandatory committees as requested.
