Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary. Job Requirements Education Bachelor's Degree required for Physician Assistants Master's Degree required for Nurse Practitioners Work Experience One (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or One (1) year of Urgent Care setting experience required . Will consider 2 years of Family Medicine experience. Required Licenses/Certifications National Certification Active state medical licensure Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting preferred Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, casting etc. Preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays required . Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting required .
