Our second floor unit includes an Orthopedic Center for Excellence with a 24 bed unit focusing on for total hip, shoulder and knee replacements patients and cares for orthopedic fractures. We also serve a small medical population. Our three south unit includes an 11 bed unit with medical patients and general surgical patients. These patients include: sepsis, cardiac, stroke, renal, CHF, COPD, respiratory illnesses. The surgical population includes appendectomy, small bowel obstructions and various other surgeries. The Medical Surgical Unit at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital is focused on the needs of the patient and helping one another to meet those needs. Our patient management on both units may include telemetry monitoring, continuous medication infusions, wounds, varieties of tubes and drains. There are approximately 60 staff members that include experienced and newer staff including, CNA’s, RN’s, and Unit Clerks. Supported by the Manager, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nurse Educator and Operations Coordinator.
