Assure surgical optimization through intake of a health history and identify potential risk factors that may require additional evaluation prior to procedure. Gather records from outside facilities that might assist in obtaining insurance authorization and accurate ASA classification for procedure. Order pre-operative studies as outlined by GFC-Anesthesia guidelines and communicate abnormalities to the physician. Place orders for procedure as directed by the physician. Cover vacancies within the Endoscopy department when needed and provide triage for Endoscopy patients when needed.
