The practice consists of three surgeons, 4 Operative NP/PAs and 2 non-operative NP/PAs. Due to a retirement, the practice is recruiting for an operative NP/PA to maintain current staffing for this busy practice. The current staffing model consists of 4 physician assistants who function primarily in the operating room (first assist, conduit harvesting) and inpatient(ICU/Step-down rounds). The other individuals function in a nonsurgical role concentrating primarily on inpatient rounds and the outpatient clinic practice. This position is an operative position and therefore the primary focus is acting as a first assist in the operating room for Cardiothoracic cases and coverage of both non-ICU inpatient and surgical call.
