Notifies office referral specialist when insurance referral is required. Assists provider with office exams, obtaining height, weight, BMI and other pertinent information as required. In Family Physicians, Women’s Care, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics: May administer immunizations. Updates immunization records and records VFC immunizations in VFC log. Performs phone triage when scheduled, including fielding patient medical questions, test results, medication refills, and call-backs to patients as directed by provider or requested by patient. Faxes/calls/transmits prescription refills as directed by provider. Performs walk-in patient duties as scheduled, which may include: triage, injections, blood pressures, urinalyses, medication sample requests, collecting history and other information from the patients to be relayed to the provider for direction.
