Position Overview: The Lead Nurse (RN) supports the School Health Manager in overseeing and coordinating school-based health services across the district. This role provides leadership and clinical expertise to ensure a high-quality, compliant, and student-centered health program that promotes the health and safety of all students. Responsibilities: Leadership and Supervision Assist the School Health Manager in leading and managing school health personnel districtwide Supervise and support building-based school nurses Provide leadership in identifying areas for improvement in student health care Develop and implement district-level policies, procedures, and best practices for school health services Student Health Program Coordination Coordinate with the School Health Manager to assess and address skilled nursing needs for students Support the development of a comprehensive health program for assessment, evaluation, maintenance, and improvement of student health Provide direct medical assistance or back-up care for students as needed Assist in classroom-based health services and screenings (e.g., vision and hearing) Compliance and Record Management Ensure all student health records are accurate, current, and meet state requirements for exams and immunizations Monitor compliance with Medication Administration Regulations and other state health mandates Establish and oversee recordkeeping systems for office visits and medication dispensing Enter and maintain student immunization, screening, and health records in appropriate systems Environment and Communication Ensure all school health offices are hygienic, well-stocked, organized, and conducive to student care Maintain high standards of safety and supervision within the nurse offices Communicate regularly with the School Health Manager about site-level issues, trends, and concerns Collaborate with other school and district staff to support student health and wellness Qualifications: Education and Work Experience Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure in the State of Ohio Preferred: Certification as a School Nurse from the Ohio Department of Education Minimum of 12 months of experience as a Registered Nurse Preferred: Experience working as a school nurse At least 12 months of leadership experience in a nursing or healthcare setting Salary and Benefits Contract Type: Salary Range: $xx.xx - $xx.xx per hour, commensurate with experience per the Cincinnati Federation of Teachers Agreement, Lead District Nurse is a full-time, exempt position.
