Job Description MH: Float Pool (Full Time, Days) ***This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to a $9000.*** Job Summary: The Clinical Nurse B- Flexible Integrated Team (FIT) is part of Loma Linda University Medical Center-Murrieta (LLUMC-Murrieta) float pool. The FIT nurse functions out of a home department and reassigns to a LLUMC-Murrieta patient care department where additional staffing is needed to cover sick calls, vacations, federal and state legislative leaves or vacancies. Exhibits flexibility and readily accepts assignments where needed. Utilizes discretion and independent judgment to prioritize, coordinate, provide and document direct and indirect age-specific and developmentally appropriate quality patient- centered care in a fast-paced environment. Performs the nursing process (assessment, care planning, intervention, evaluation) with minimal supervision and in accordance with established Professional Practice Model (Duffy's Quality Caring Theory) to achieve proficient individualized physical, psychosocial and spiritual wellness and provide compassionate bereavement support as appropriate. Functions in a skills mix environment and delegates tasks to unlicensed staff in accordance with scope of practice. Applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice and exhibits self-motivation to continually expand knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in area of specialty. Meets qualifications, licensure, certifications, competencies and staffing requirements as defined by department’s Plan for Providing Care (PPC). Exhibits refined interpersonal skills that portray professionalism and maximize excellence in customer service and safe patient care. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. Performs other duties as needed. Education and Experience: Associate of Science Degree in nursing required. If hired after January 1, 2021, enrollment in a Bachelor of Science Degree nursing program within six months of hire with expected completion date two and a half years after enrollment required. Minimum one year of experience required. Employees are eligible to be promoted into the CN-C FIT classification when criteria outlined in the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP) handbook and job specifications outlined in CN-C FIT job description are met. Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrates basic competencies in clinical nursing. Ability to apply theoretical concepts to clinical practice and continually expands knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in area of specialty and population served.
