As a Correctional Nurse , you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the individuals in residence. The NICU has a dedicated transport team that services Southern Oregon and surrounding areas. Average daily census is 20. Assistant Nurse Manager, Trauma and Emergency General Surgery

Department Overview 13A Trauma is an Intermediate Care unit. We utilize a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. The care team is responsible for assessing patient needs, planning and coordinating interventions to meet those needs and evaluating the effectiveness of the interventions. We also provide an emphasis of rehabilitation principles, assisting patients in transitioning from hospital to home or rehab. Daily patient rounds occur with the attending staff physician, charge nurse, case manager, surgical residents and nurse practitioner. We collaborate with the ICU to make the patient and family transition to our unit smooth and worry free. 10A Emergency General Surgery (EGS) is an 18 bed unit. Patient population includes; necrotizing fasciitis, and complicated abdominal surgeris for conditions such as: necrotizing pancreatitis and enterocutaneous fistulas, colectomies and complication of prior surgeries, appy, chole, post surgical care. Function/Duties of Position The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is a registered nurse (RN) who is responsible for upholding excellence in the provision of nursing care through the implementation of the Profession Practice Model. The ANM, in association with the Nurse Manager, is responsible for the managerial and leadership functions within a patient environment. The ANM functions primarily on evening and nightshift hours to provide operational oversight, consistency and continuity. The ANM partners with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure the delivery of safe, quality patient care and compliance with regulatory standards, and administrative and clinical policies and procedures. The ANM performs managerial activities, and demonstrates effective leadership behaviors including performing evaluations, employee mentoring, coaching, and performance management. Performs destruction of unused or outdated medication Performs discharge planning functions to ensure continuity of care. Ensures youth is educated regarding health conditions, health care needs and medication prior to discharge. Carries out physician/dentist/nurse practitioner orders, ensuring they are appropriate, by observation and feedback from staff members, youth and youth's family. Evaluates effectiveness of care and adjusts accordingly while being consistent with best practices of the nursing profession. Collects laboratory specimens and samples for testing and analysis. Maintains accurate, legible and complete records of patient care in electronic Medical record (HER) including chart documentation, objective data collection, treatment provided, evaluation of treatment effectiveness, patient education provided, and the writing of nursing care plans. Enters essential youth-related health information into Juvenile Justice Information System (JJIS).
