25012416 Seeking Registered Nurse's (RN) and Certified Surgical Technologist Specialist (CST Specialist) to join the CVOR Team Bring your passion for Texas Health So We Are Better + Together Work location: Texas Health Plano, 6200 West Parker Road, Plano, TX 75093 Work hours: Variable Shifts; Variable Hours; Weekend and Holiday Requirements Surgery CVOR Department Highlights Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team The opportunity to work with a diverse patient population The potential for high job satisfaction Work/Life balance as well as opportunities for educational and professional development growth opportunities Here’s What You Need - RN's Nursing Diploma required or Associate’s Degree of Nursing required Bachelor’s degree of Nursing preferred 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse required CVOR experience strongly preferred RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required and BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required and A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment What You Will Do - RN Basic Human Needs - Responds to others' priorities regarding safety, physical, psychological and social needs Human Respect - Honors worth of humans through unconditional acceptance Appreciation of Unique Meanings - Concerned with understanding others frame of reference Affiliation Needs - Engages family/caregivers in health care situations Mutual Problem Solving - Professional behaviors that help patients and families understand how to confront, learn about, and think about their health and illness; involves a reciprocal, shared approach with resulting decisions acceptable to involved parties Mutual Problem Solving - Professional behaviors that help patients and families understand how to confront, learn about, and think about their health and illness; involves a reciprocal, shared approach with resulting decisions acceptable to involved parties Healing Environment - The professional nurse creates settings that provide privacy, safety, confidentiality and tranquility Here’s What You Need - CST Specialist High School Diploma or equivalent and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009, required or Other – Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program, vocational nurse program or graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology Other – Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program or graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology preferred 2 years of experience in a surgical service specialty (robotics, cardiovascular/hearts, orthopedic, neurology) with a minimum of 150 cases performed in that specialty required 2 years of recent CVOR experience highly preferred CST – Certified Surgical Technologist/ CST (MBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) upon hire required or CST – Certified Surgical Technologist CST (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009, upon hire required or CST – Certified Surgical Technologist CST (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009, upon hire required or LVN – Licensed Vocational Nurse upon hire required and BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly upon hire required and Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively and professionally across disciplines. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. A high degree of confidentiality with the ability to function in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple demands as well as respond to rapidly changing priorities. Service orientation and demonstrated ability to respond to the needs and emotions of people under stress What You Will Do - CST Speicalist Preoperatively assists R.N. circulator in formulating a plan of care Prepare and organize the operating room Assists in providing peri-operative care for a patient population that includes infants, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics Assists as needed in coordinating patient care peri-operatively Assumes responsibility and accountability for behavior to maintain standards for professional nursing practice Post-operatively follows proper procedures for the care of instruments, supplies, and equipment.
