This individual assists in the preparation and delivery of patient care as directed by the provider(s) and other licensed clinical personnel. Clinical duties are skillfully and consistently performed per established clinical policy and procedure. Education & Experience: High school diploma required. Required: Either a graduate of an accredited MA school OR a current MA certification. Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification: National certification preferred. Location: Dodson Medical Office Building Department: Administration Specialty Clinic Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Standard Weekly Hours: 40 Summary: The Medical Assistant will deliver care with a team-orientation and with an emphasis on good customer relations and sound clinical judgment. Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Completion of certified Nurse Assistant, Medical Assistant course or other comparable health care provider program with course work in patient assessment/vital signs and growth and development, ( i.e. 1 clinical semester in accredited nursing program). At least 1 year experience as medical assistant. The nursing care is based on the nursing process and augments the medical plan of treatment appropriate to the Specialty Clinic. Education: Graduate of accredited nursing program. Minimum of one year pediatric nursing experience preferred. Experience in a clinical setting preferred. Certification/Licensure: Current permit or license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas. Current BLS Certification. Will obtain advanced life support certification within two years from their date of hire/transfer date. Other certification may be required by department.
