Essential Position Responsibilities Set up sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies for the specific surgical procedure. Ensure all equipment is sterilized and functioning properly. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and have all necessary items ready. Follow strict sterile techniques to prevent infection and contamination. Monitor and maintain the sterile field throughout the procedure. Provide surgical instruments and other sterile supplies to the surgeon upon request.
