Facilitates patient participation and self-care when able, and provides information to patients and families in order for them to make decisions and choices about their health care. Promotes optimal health of the patient by including preventive and health promotion activities into the plan of care, participates in clinical pathway development and quality management activities. Participates as a team member in patient care conferences with other health disciplines and uses a team approach to the provision of care. Participates in clinical case conferences and other department and campus meetings as appropriate. Responsible for appropriate documentation and billing notations for care that is given. Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist the physician in diagnosing medical and surgical problems and prescribing necessary treatment and services for quality patient care. Record the normal and abnormal data for review by the physician. Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations, and record the data in the patient's record. Write progress notes and narrative discharge summaries. Prepare patient workups and summaries, noting pertinent positive and negative findings. Order and schedule laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures; explain the necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient. Carry out therapeutic procedures such as cast application and removal, wound suturing and dressing changes; monitor progress of patients, report progress to supervising physician, and maintain record of each patient's progress. Department: ICE | CORE PA Float Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties: Under the direction of the Director, of the Appointment Business Center (ABC) the Registered Nurse (RN) will improve patient outcomes and promote wellness by navigating and performing the following duties: nurse triage, insurance prior authorizations of clinic in office procedures, patient appointment scheduling, referral management of internal and external patient referrals, and complete post discharge follow up calls for given patient populations. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree, Associates Degree, or Diploma in Nursing Three (3) years nursing experience Current/Valid Arkansas Registered Nursing License. BLS certification. Strong computer and typing skills Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Two (2) years of experience in Nurse Triage, Appointment Scheduling, Patient Access, Clinic nursing, or any combination of the four. ACLS certification or obtain certification within one year of hire date. Call center experience, Epic Nurse Triage Module Additional Information: Job Requirements: The RN will work closely with service lines, providers, and clinics to provide suitable and timely patient follow up. The RN will be responsible for reviewing, requesting, and submitting clinical documentation as appropriate. This position will be required to identify and differentiate between routine, urgent, or emergent/life-threatening symptoms in order to provide safe and timely dispositions. The RN will respond to patient and provider inquiries, prioritizing responses and routing urgent situations as necessary to providers. Maintains accurate and appropriate documentation and follows patient privacy in accordance with HIPPA and UAMS policies and procedures. Performs to the level of a licensed registered nurse as dictated by the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act and UAMS.
