Obtain informed consent from patients for anesthesia procedures. Assess patients' medical histories to predict anesthesia response. Perform or manage regional anesthetic techniques such as local, spinal, epidural, caudal, nerve blocks and intravenous blocks. Evaluate patients' post-surgical or post-anesthesia responses, taking appropriate corrective actions or requesting consultation if complications occur. Administers post-anesthesia medications or fluids to support patients' cardiovascular systems. Discharge patients from post-anesthesia care. Read literature, talk with colleagues, and participate in professional organizations or conferences to keep abreast of developments in anesthesia. Required Skills/Abilities: Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Advanced understanding of anesthesia and other critical nursing skills. Demonstrated patient care skills. Ability to practice independently Can show competence within Anesthesia Clinical Privileges Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia education program. Currently has a CRNA license in Montana (or obtains prior to the start date). Two years of CRNA experience required. Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber (APNP) credential.
