Job Summary Reporting to the Practice Manager, and under the general supervision and direct collaboration with the Supervising Physician, the nurse practitioner performs duties to assist supervising physicians in a wide range of clinical tasks. Responsible to manage a wide range of inpatient and outpatient duties, as well as emergency situations, while adhering to standard practices and established procedures. This position ensures the quality and safe delivery of care to patients of all ages. Education Minimum Qualifications Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (ARPN) ,Completion of a Masters' Degree or Doctoral Degree Experience 3+ years experience in primary care/family medicine. Licensure And/or Certification Current license as a Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required. National certification as a Nurse Practitioner required (ARNP) with recertification every five years as required DEA license. BLS healthcare provider required. Must be able to attain and maintain privileges at Emerson Hospital as Nurse Practitioner Skills Computer skills required (EMR is GE Centricity) Understands and is committed to maintaining highest level of confidential information. Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team, in collaborative settings, required. Strong interpersonal communication skills, on the phone and in person Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills Required. Excellent customer service skills. Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English. The NP will Collaborate with MD partners, primary nurses, medical assistants, and support staff to deliver patient centered team-based care. · The NP will independently manage a panel of patients of his/her own, and be responsible for meeting quality, and panel targets as outlined by the department. ·The NP may also co-manage patients within the practice, collaborative with designated physician(s). · As part of his/her role, the NP will perform and record the patient history and physical exam; form an assessment and plan, which may include ordering appropriate testing and imaging, and the interpretation of results and communication of the results to patients. Qualifications 5-7 years clinical experience preferred as a Nurse Practitioner in primary care. Master’s degree in nursing required. Current Board certification as an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner required.
