What You’ll Do

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting
  • Manage acute conditions, infections, and injuries
  • Perform minor procedures such as suturing, splinting, and incision & drainage
  • Conduct comprehensive physicals, including DOT and employment exams
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, X-rays, EKGs)
  • Counsel patients on care plans and preventive health strategies
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation
  • Collaborate with supervising physicians and team members to ensure quality care
Who We’re Looking For

  • Certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP) with an active state license or Certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA) with an active state license
  • 2+ years of experience in urgent care, family medicine, or emergency care
  • Skilled in urgent care procedures and comfortable in a fast-paced clinic
  • Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered mindset

Job Description Summary The Intensive Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team that provides comprehensive care to critically ill patients. This position will work under the clinical supervision of a physician Intensivist, within the guidelines of nursing process and Advanced Practice Provider protocols as outlined in Patient Care Guidelines for Advanced Practice Provider. The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant performs physical assessments, collects and documents data, conducts approved diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies, prescribes appropriate interventions and medications, and provides direct patient care services in the ICU setting. The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant contributes to excellence in patient care, teaching, consulting and provides leadership to the organization and nursing profession. Required Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience: Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in an intensive care setting. Departmental specialized training to provide care to patients within role. Completion of Hospital orientation. Must meet all criteria associated with responsibilities detailed in this document.
