EDUCATION: Must be a graduate of an accredited program of nursing. Must have successfully completed additional theoretical and clinical education through an accredited graduate level family nurse practitioner program. PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT DEFINITION: The Physician Assistant is a health care professional, qualified by academic and clinical education, and licensed by the State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision, who provides health care services in a variety of patient care settings under the direction and supervision of a physician. Patients cared for are infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric. EDUCATION: Must be a graduate of a physician assistant program approved by the American Medical Association. Preferred Qualifications: Board certification or eligibility in dermatology for Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants. Experience working in a dermatology clinical setting. Advanced certifications related to dermatologic procedures or cosmetic dermatology. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) system: Meditech Expanse Strong background in patient education and counseling specific to dermatologic health. Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive dermatologic assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing. Diagnose and treat a variety of skin conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, skin infections, and skin cancers. Perform dermatologic procedures including biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, and laser treatments under the supervision or collaboration with dermatologists. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and adjust therapies as needed. Educate patients on skin care, disease prevention, and treatment adherence to promote long-term skin health. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and participate in case discussions and clinical meetings. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with regulatory standards and practice policies. Stay current with advances in dermatology through continuing education, professional development, and participation in relevant research or quality improvement projects.
