Within this unit, there is a 9 bed Step-down/Traumatic Brain Injury unit that provides intermediate care between that of an ICU and an inpatient floor division. Our team also serves as the hospitals only comprehensive joint replacement unit that provides skilled and coordinated care for elective orthopedic surgical patients receiving hip and knee replacements. The goal of the Ortho/Trauma unit is to provide continuous supportive nursing care to patients by collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The Trauma team plans and implements patient focused care, which supports the recovery of the patient from admission to transition to an appropriate facility or home.
