About the Role:

The Wound Care Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive assessment, treatment, and ongoing management of patients with acute and chronic wounds. Working collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams, this role focuses on evidence-based wound care, patient education, and improving healing outcomes in an outpatient clinic setting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Nurse Practitioner license for the state of Oklahoma. 
  • Master’s degree or higher from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical assessments, patient management, and nursing care.
  • Current BLS certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in wound care, ostomy care, or related specialty.
  • Additional training or certification in Wound Care. 
  • Experience in an outpatient clinic.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare informatics.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic wounds.
  • Perform wound care procedures, including debridement, as credentialed.
  • Monitor wound healing progress and adjust care plans as needed. 
  • Educate patients and caregivers on wound management and prevention. 
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams to coordinate treatment. 
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards.
