The work week will fall between Monday and Friday. Some shifts may be evening hours, 5pm to 8 pm. The schedule is set based on clinic need 60-days in advance. The faculty member will provide either same day access, covering acute patient needs, or will provide continuity care and panel coverage depending on the type of support the clinic needs. The faculty member will not be a part of the clinician call pool. The faculty member will be responsible for limited inbasket work according to their coverage assignment and generally will have less inbasket work than a paneled clinician in Family Medicine. The faculty member will have a monthly team meeting and a monthly one on one meeting with the Director of Outpatient Care and Quality to provide consistent support. Communication is essential to helping the float program and our clinics be as successful as possible. The faculty member will be expected to participate in continuing education, professional and faculty development and scholarship. The faculty member’s schedule can be set in accordance with teaching and scholarship engagements with advance notice (at least 60 days). Compensation for the position will include a university base salary and a clinical incentive system based on the success and productivity of the practice, as well as, personal initiative.
