BLS required within 30 days of hire and maintained throughout employment at CGH. In-depth working knowledge of current concepts, principles and procedures used in patient care within an acute care setting, preferred. Demonstrates ability to document patient needs and assessments. Basic Computer knowledge required. Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding required. Prior knowledge of drawing blood required. Thorough knowledge of medical equipment and instruments required. Demonstrates the knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patients served on assigned unit. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the patient population served. This is a part-time position within the offices of Wayne Primary Care, working 32 hours per week and 64 hours per pay period. Qualifications: Completion or currently enrolled in a recognized LPN or CMA program at an accredited college or university. 1+ years experience in direct patient care, family practice preferred Proficient in medical terminology Prior Phlebotomy experience preferred Responsibilities: Reports for scheduled shifts on time and in a professional manner with regard to behavior, telephone courtesy, dress, identification, and communication with patients’ colleagues, and outside agencies. Works closely with the provider and leadership to continually improve the patient experience though daily patient care, clerical support, ongoing projects and assumes additional duties as needed in a self-directed manner. Under the direction of the provider, contributes to the completion of the patient’s chief complaint (including but not limited to respirations, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, height, weight and temperature) and documentation of patient/family needs. Identifies significant changes in patient condition through data collection and reports them to the provider. Performs specific specialized tests (i.e. phlebotomy procedures) as needed.
