Cox Health in Springfield, Missouri, is the “hub” site for the southwest Missouri region. The Missouri telehealth network will provide consultation, guidance, or technical assistance to appropriate medical providers using telehealth services during a forensic examination of a victim of a sexual offense. The State of Missouri will provide equipment and training for Missouri hospitals to ensure hospitals’ ability to conduct forensic examinations In the event an Emergency Department (ED) Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) is not available, the SAFE-T nurse, under guidance of a SANE or another similarly trained appropriate medical provider via the Missouri telehealth network, will conduct a forensic examination and forensic evidence collection in the Freeman Joplin or Neosho Emergency Departments for consenting adult patients who were sexually assaulted within the previous 5 days. Requirements 1.AHA ACLS within 90 days. 2.AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers within 30 days. 3.AHA PALS Provider within 180 days. 4.ASLS - Advanced Stroke Life Support within 180 days. 5.CardioVascular Disease CEU hours - 8 per year annually by transcript due date. 6.Current Missouri Registered Nurse license or current Registered Nurse license from a compact state. If a compact license is held, it must be in the nurse’s state of residence. 7.If no experience as an RN or LPN in a hospital setting or it has been more than 5 years since last worked in a hospital setting, nurses must successfully pass Patient Care Orientation (PCO) within 30 days. 8.NIH Stroke Scale Certification within 365 days. 9.Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training Program (CPI) within 365 days. 10.RN Competency Day annually by transcript due date. 11.Stroke CEU Hours - 8 per year annually by transcript due date.
