Communicates patient information to physicians and appropriate team members to improve patient outcomes. Delegates as appropriate while maintaining an atmosphere fostering team work and accountability. Communicates with patient and family members in a timely manner to enhance the patient experience and provide education to support health care outcomes. Demonstrates critical thinking into nursing practice and attempts to develop skills and abilities through continuing education. Education Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. Work Experience One year experience preferred. Certification/License Current RN license in the State of Missouri or Compact Licensure. Graduate nurses (GNs) must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS). The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse functions independently within their scope of practice under the Missouri Board of Nursing. The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse practices under the Missouri Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies and procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Follows established hospital policy regarding patient safety measures such as infection prevention, safe patient handling and movement, notification of the licensed nurse when patient condition changes to ensure that patient care is provided in an optimally safe environment.
