Receives direction from licensed nurses in planning and carrying out nursing aide care. Observes and reports to the licensed nurse the physical and psychological conditi on of the patient including any changes. Reports safety hazards and unusual incidents involving patients, visitors or self to the Supervising Nurse and to the o ffice. Performs the following, provided that he/she has been trained, demonstrated competency and it is within the RAH policy and state law; colostomy care, wound care, catheter care and medication administration. The Certified Medication tech will NOT perform any of the following: taking or transcribing physician orders activities outside the Scope of Practice for CMT as outlined in the State Practice Act. Education, Experience, Knowledge, Ski lls, Abilities and Availability Graduate of a state approved Certified Medication Technician course. Six months experience within the past 2 years as a Certified Medication Technician. Currently certified in the state as a Certified Medication Tech. Passing score on RAH’s CMT Competency exam.
