Every decision made is in the best interest of staff and the patients JOB SUMMARY The Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional who uses the BSWH nursing professional practice model to coordinate patient care delivery by the health care team. Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient, identifies nursing diagnoses based on responses to health problems, develops and implements an individualized plan of care, and evaluates the patient's response. The RN promotes safe passage for their patients by using knowledge of patient needs and the healthcare environment to assist patients to transition through the healthcare encounter without any preventable complications or delays. The RN delegates interventions to health care personnel based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act, each patient's condition and the competencies of the employee. RN job is to be used for RNs in hospital inpatient and outpatient departments with 24X7 staffing which include those departments with on-call staffing on the off shifts. Examples of hospital inpatient and outpatient procedural areas: GI Lab, Pain Management, Dialysis, Infusion Centers and IV Services. Maintain the patient's physiologic homeostasis and corrects abnormal responses to the anesthesia and/or surgery. Collect and interpret patient physiological data via noninvasive monitoring. Manage the patient's airway and pulmonary status. Manage patient emergence and recovery, including pain/complication management, via medication, fluids, or ventilator support. Document all anesthesia-related events, including agent dosages, fluids, and blood components. Document post-anesthetic visits, noting any complications. Serve as a resource and assist in training staff and student nurse anesthetists in clinical phases. Adhere to CDC and MTF infection control guidelines. Location: Temple, TX - Baylor Scott & White Center for Diagnostic Medicine - 1605 S. 31st Street Specialty: Rheumatology Infusion Shift/Hours: Full-time, Day shift JOB SUMMARY The Procedural Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional who uses the BSWH nursing professional practice model to coordinate patient care delivery by the health care team. Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient, identifies nursing diagnoses based on responses to health problems, develops and implements an individualized plan of care, and evaluates the patient's response. The RN promotes safe passage for their patients by using knowledge of patient needs and the healthcare environment to assist patients to transition through the healthcare encounter without any preventable complications or delays. The RN delegates interventions to health care personnel based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act, each patient's condition and the competencies of the employee. This role is only to be used in specific procedural departments as determined by the Office of the CNO.
