About the Job As a member of the Patient Care Services team, the Registered Nurse (Float Pool) provides comprehensive and compassionate nursing care to patients with a variety of diagnoses. The Registered Nurse in the float pool will be expected to regularly float and accept assignments on different units to cover staffing needs. The Registered Nurse successfully completes a competency-based orientation program to maintain competencies in serving multiple diverse patient populations. What You’ll Do: Delivers nursing care by utilizing a patient-centered approach incorporating the Professional Practice Model. Provides patient-centered care through teamwork and collaboration to achieve quality patient outcomes. Integrates best practices and current evidence-based practices for delivery of optimal health care. Utilizes data to improve quality and safety. Incorporates informatics and technology to communicate, manage information, mitigate errors, and support decision making. Overview The Clinical Nurse is an engaged and credentialed member of the Professional Nursing Organization and is responsible for autonomous practice directed by the professional tenets of practitioner, leader/decision maker, scientist and transferor. The Clinical Nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide evidence-based care and to continuously monitor and evaluate practice to ensure safe passage of patients that is in the best interest of populations served. Part-time, 24 hours/week. Responsibilities Practitioner Utilizes the nursing process to assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, plan, implement and evaluate an individualized plan of care. Utilizes critical thinking and the nursing process to anticipate and recognize changes in patient status, taking action to modify the plan of care or to elevate to the care team as necessary. Practices in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics to advocate for patients, uphold their autonomy in decision-making, ensure informed consent and assist patients in families in expressing self-determination.
