Manages the care of patients during the postpartum period. Provides family planning education/services, and gynecological services, to women (including teens). Assumes responsibility for the triage of common health problems presented by women (including teens) and for management, collaboration, co-management and/or referral to appropriate levels of health care services. Prescribes the full range of contraception including, but not limited to, birth control pills, emergency contraception/ “morning-after pills,” inserts intrauterine contraceptive devices and contraceptive implants, fit s diaphragms, does pelvic examinations and Pap tests . Treats hemorrhage and shock. Collaborates in planning, and participates in, educational programs for patients, family, staff and community. Must be able to work a rotating full-time schedule, including nights and weekends. Must be able to perform well in crisis situation.
