Resident Monitoring: Observe and document changes in residents' conditions, including vital signs and any adverse reactions to medications. Communicate observations and concerns to the nursing staff and assist with any necessary follow-up actions. Health and Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean and organized medication storage area. Follow infection control procedures and safety protocols to ensure a hygienic and safe environment for residents. Resident Support: Provide compassionate and respectful assistance to residents, addressing their needs and preferences while fostering a supportive and empathetic atmosphere. Communication: Collaborate with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans and ensure that residents' needs are met. Communicate effectively with residents' families regarding medication-related concerns and changes in health status. Documentation: Accurately complete all required documentation, including medication administration records, resident health observations, and incident reports. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional relevant training or coursework in healthcare or medication administration is a plus. Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a skilled nursing facility or similar environment, is preferred but not required. Certifications: Current certification as a Medication Aide (CMA) as required by Nebraska regulations. Communications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals and build positive relationships with residents and their families. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and transfer residents as needed, and to perform tasks that require physical stamina and endurance. Skills: Strong attention to detail. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES May be responsible for answering incoming phone calls coming into nursing triage, which include the following: Determines if the call is low acuity or high acuity by demonstrating strong listening skills. If able to assist patient in a non-clinical situation, will continue the call. Forwards to the appropriate clinical staff member on duty if the call requires any clinical intervention. Responsible for (but not limited to): ADD symptoms/Questions, Medication Refill requests, Referral questions, request for copies of lab or immunization records, request for lab releasing to my chart, lab results if sign off by provider, general calls from pharmacies and medication not covered by their insurance. Utilizes the smart phrases when taking any phone messages and routing directly to the provider. Posts patient test results through patient’s mychart portal. Refills medication following the ARC refill protocols. May assist providers with procedures by setting up equipment, assisting with patient preparation, and cleaning and storing equipment after exam. Obtains applicable consents and completes all necessary documentation in EPIC EMR. May maintain equipment (autoclaves, sterilizes, washes speculums, checks expiration dates, etc). Performs other duties within the scope of the unlicensed personnel as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Required to meet one of the following: Medical Assistant experience, or CNA/EMT/PCT(or other comparable experience) providing direct patient care, beyond Activities of Daily Living, including experience taking manual vitals and giving medications and/or injections, or Graduate of a medical assistant program.
