Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures related to the practice. Follows standard procedures and/or written instructions to perform job duties. Assists with business operations, clerical, medical records management, reception, and patient scheduling as needed. Demonstrates teamwork to ensure achievement of team, individual, and corporate goals. Provides support to team members and performs other duties as required. Qualifications JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross. Graduated from a Medical Assistant program, accredited by the Commission on accreditation of Allied Health Education Program preferred. Test and pass the National Certification exam (AAMA, NHA, NCCT, AMT, NAHP) to be certified as Medical Assistant required. Experience: 1-2 years’ experience in a clinical setting is preferred. Ability to interpret and follow oral and written instructions, policies, guidelines and standards. Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively. Intermediate Proficiency level with Microsoft Office: Word and Excel. Job Summary Provides general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider to patients in an outpatient clinic setting. This position works directly with a franchised business location. The specific job duties and benefits can vary between franchises. Responsibilities Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure Draw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions Respond to all lab messages and call back requests Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedure Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basis Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures Maintain complete and accurate documentation Other duties and responsibilities as assigned Qualifications Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. AMT registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants are preferred.
