Turns and repositions bedfast residents, alone or with assistance. Takes and records temp, B/P. Pulse, resp rate., Ht., Wt., and food and fluid intake and output, as directed. Monitor residents’ activities and reports any irregularities of resident performance to nurse managers. Participates in and receives nursing report upon reporting and departing to/from work. Reports all changes in residents’ conditions to supervisor Cleans all equipment used and returns to proper area after use. Maintains cleanliness of residents’ units, central bathing area, treatment and supply rooms, workrooms, and linen closets. Provided post-mortem care as instructed. Accurately records all care as directed. Participates and attends periodic in-services and staff meetings. Understands and adheres to the guidelines of “Residents Rights”. PURPOSE AND SCOPE: The professional registered nurse Outpatient RN CAP 1 is an entry level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). This position is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for an assigned group of patients. This may include delegation of appropriate tasks to direct patient care staff including but not limited to RNs, LVN/LPNs and Patient Care Technicians. As a member of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) health care team, this position participates in decision-making, teaching, leadership functions, and quality improvement activities that enhance patient care outcomes and facility operations. JOB SUMMARY The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) administers general, regional and monitored anesthesia care for scheduled and emergency surgical and obstetrical procedures and perform anesthesia-related procedures. The CRNA evaluates, formulates, and carries out an anesthesia care plan including monitoring and recording patient reaction to anesthesia and modifying the anesthetic plan accordingly. The CRNA transports patients to and from an anesthetizing location and ensures appropriate care during the postoperative period. The CRNA may supervise, instruct, and provide feedback to student nurse anesthetists to ensure patient safety. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provides pre-anesthetic preparation and patient evaluation. Ensures patient identification and obtains appropriate health history. Recommends, requests, and evaluates pertinent diagnostic studies. Documents pre-anesthetic evaluation. Obtains informed consent for anesthesia. Selects and/or administers pre-anesthetic medications.
