Reports abnormal rhythm to physicians. · Competent in section, care of and discontinuation of catheters, tubes and/or drains (or assisting with the insertion). · Administers medication per physicians’ orders with zero errors, respecting patients’ rights and performing assessment, reassessment, assessing effectiveness and documentation according to hospital policy. · Responds to code blue in department, and initiates CPR. Demonstrates calm, professional manners during a crisis or emergency situation at all times within the patient care environment. · Initiates and maintains intravenous therapy as per hospital policy and infection control guidelines. Safety administers blood and blood products. · Adheres to and complies with all regulatory standards globally to profession and specific to unit, consistent with their scope of practice. · Conducts and documents initial vital signs and admission history, initiates an individualized plan of care, and prioritizes interventions based on patient needs.
