How you make a difference As a Nurse Practitioner MAT, you will deliver comprehensive medical care to patients, operating within established policies and procedures and in alignment with state regulations, under the guidance of the Site Medical Director and fellow site Physicians. Overview At Houston Methodist, the Nurse Practitioner Acute Care (NP) AC (ACLS) position is responsible for functioning as a licensed registered nurse and care provider to provide all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatment and consultation while maintaining and promoting the health of the patient. This position may work in both inpatient and outpatient situations and performs according to the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Texas and as part of a treatment team. The NP AC (ACLS) position role models compassionate communication with patients, physicians and the interprofessional health care team and provides education to patients about preventative care and prescribed treatments. This position may also conduct physicals, order tests and serve as a patient's healthcare provider, prescribing medications as appropriate. Performs comprehensive medical assessments, including history-taking and physical examinations, to diagnose opioid dependence and coexisting medical or psychiatric disorders, making appropriate referrals for further treatment. Prescribes tailored patient care regimens, upholding confidentiality standards and contributing insights to facility committees upon request from the Site Medical Director or Health Services Administrator. Additional Details Must be a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Washington. This is an onsite, 1 day per week position focused on MAT patients.
