The NNP is responsible for managing the care and transport of neonates from referring facilities. Utilizing an advanced nursing process, the NNP will assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, while accurately documenting patient responses and outcomes. This position requires proficiency in neonatal pathophysiology and technical skills, including lab and x-ray interpretation, intubation, line placement, thoracentesis, thoracotomy, and intraosseous access. In collaboration with physicians and referral teams, the NNP must demonstrate strong leadership through nursing judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities. As an advocate for patients and families, the NNP must maintain professional conduct and communication. Additionally, knowledge of healthcare economics is necessary to ensure cost-effective resource utilization. Overview The purpose of this position is to coordinate and support the medical needs of patients pursuing Pediatric Otolaryngology service.
