Nurse practitioners are independent practitioners who diagnose, treat, and prescribe for a patients condition that falls within their specialty area of practice. Performs a patient record review with the collaborating physician in a timely fashion but not less than every three months if utilizing a collaborative practice agreement. 13. Completes the Focused Professional Practice Proctoring Evaluation (FPPE) or the Ongoing Professional Practice Proctoring Evaluation (OPPE) as required by Medical Staff for continued credentialing status. 14. Practices as a member of the allied health staff according to the rules and regulations of the Medical Staff and the bylaws of the Hospital Staff. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT 1. Qualifications Licensure: New York State License with current registration as a registered nurse. Has a Collaborative Practice Agreement with a physician and designated protocols if less than 3600 hours experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner. If there is a documented work history as a Nurse Practitioner with greater than 3600 practice hours. The APP may serve as a direct caregiver, health care consultant, patient educator, administrator, or researcher. Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements. Position Details Ø Assist Hospitalists with inpatient evaluations, H&P’s & follow-up visits. Ø Initiate appropriate treatment & testing for medical illnesses. Ø Complete history and physical examinations on all new admissions Ø Round on rehabilitation patients including long term acute care patients Ø Document using EMR system. Ø Participate in continuous quality improvement processes. If You Ø Active listening, critical thinking, reading comprehension, effective communication, time management, judgement and decision making Ø Texas licensed Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Ø ACLS certification Ø 2 years of NP or RN experience in ICU/CVICU required.
