LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS Current Virginia state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Practical Nurse holding a valid Compact State license required. CPR required or must be obtained within 45 days of hire. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS One to two years of clinical experience required. Medical office or ED experience preferred. Pediatric experience preferred. Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice. Knowledge of telephone-based clinical assessment techniques and telephone triage protocols. Ability to effectively gather and exchange information in both oral and written communications to coordinate services and multiple schedules based on physician preferences and guidelines. Upon physician approval and authorization, calls in prescriptions to the pharmacy. Completes internal certification to use the ChenMed Rx system to support physician medication dispensing. Processes patient phone messages, returns calls and routes them to other team members as appropriate. Contacts patients to obtain and relay pertinent information from the physician.
