Teaches patients as necessary about the medications prescribed for them. Demonstrates positive patient care by explaining the importance of the completion of registration and patient medical history forms and how it relates to their care at our facility. Provides patient follow up with a sense of urgency regarding lab calls, patient phone calls, prescription fills and refills, referrals and appointment scheduling. Answer telephone calls from patients, pharmacies, physicians, vendors, etc. by close of business. Communicate lab/pathology results and schedules additional tests per provider order. Ensures proper reimbursement from insurance companies by performing pre-authorization for prescription drugs, procedures, and patient tests. Demonstrates the ability to build trusting collaborative relationships with a multi-disciplinary team to support patient care needs. Actively participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings as assigned.
