A caregiver in this position works 7:00pm – 7:30am. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Collect, document and report patient data and observations. Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions. Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions . Perform routine laboratory tests. Educate patients and family members. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program. Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse . Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR American Red Cross. Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: One year of patient care experience.
