Job Description Cottage Clinical Associates seeks an Advanced Practice Provider III for their CCA Cardiothoracic Surgery department responsible for providing direct patient care to assigned patients within Cottage Medical Group (CMG). Functions independently and in collaboration with the supervising clinic physician(s) and leadership in the delivery of patient care. Responsibilities include: Assesses, interprets, and integrates findings to determine appropriate diagnostic, educational and therapeutic management plans for patients Typical work scenarios require specialized knowledge, critical thinking, good judgment based upon the principles of biological, physiological, behavioral, and sociological sciences skills, as well as strong customer service skills. Internal contacts include ancillary services departments, clinic and/or hospital staff, supervising physician(s) as well as other physicians, and management throughout CMG and/or hospital. External contacts include patients, physicians, outside medical staff, and community resource services. QUALIFICATIONS: All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently. Education: Minimum: PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program, as defined by the California Physician Assistant Board. Master’s degree or certificate from a specialized medical training program associated with a medical school that includes classroom students and clinical experience. OR NURSE PRACTITIONER: Master of Nursing Degree Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing as defined in Section 1482, Nurse Practice Act, Business and Professional Code. OR Graduate of an accredited school/university of nurse-midwifery. Reference Addendum for additional education based on specialty. Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Minimum: Current California Licensure and Certificate to practice as a Nurse Practitioner issued by the California State Board and California Furnishing license. Or, Current California Licensure and Certificate to practice as a Physician Assistant issued by the California State Board. Or, current licensure in the state of California (Registered Nurse and Certified Nurse Midwife). Approval for privileges by Medical Staff (if applicable). American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers within 45 days. Reference Addendum for additional certifications based on specialty. Preferred: CNOR for NPs in Surgery Technical Requirements: Minimum: Knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge of electronic medical record, preferably EPIC. Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow. Preferred: Experience working with EPIC electronic medical record. Bilingual in English/Spanish. Years of Related Work Experience: Minimum: Two (2) years of PA or NP experience or two years of experience specific to the practice specialty of the assigned clinic and/or inpatient setting. Preferred: Experience in the area of the clinic specialty and in an outpatient and/or inpatient setting. You will work with clinic management, administration, faculty physicians, fellows, residents, medical students, and other clinical staff to include LVNs and MAs and ancillary personnel in providing total patient care, maintaining high standards of care and recognizing normal and abnormal signs and symptoms of life threatening emergencies. You will also coordinate and prioritize tasks and protocols established by the department. Salary range: $36.34-$47.94 Hourly
