COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSE II PART-TIME CONTRACTUAL

GRADE 19 LOCATION OF POSITION MDH St. Mary's County Health Department 21580 Peabody Street Leonardtown, MD 20650 Main Purpose of Job The main purpose of this part-time contractual position will be to provide temporary nursing support to the Maryland Vaccine Program (MVP). This position will be responsible for working with the CSP IV, supervisor and Administrative Specialist II to plan and operate Vaccine Clinics for the Maryland Vaccine Program (MVP) in St. Mary's County. This position will also support immunization record reviews and other outreach efforts to increase awareness of the SMCHD immunization offerings. Minimum Qualifications Education : A Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university. Experience : None. Notes Candidates may substitute a Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and one year of experience as a Registered Nurse for the required education. Candidates may substitute two years of experience as a Registered Nurse for the required education. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Nursing classification or Nursing or Health Care Specialist specialty codes in the Nursing field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education. LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland. Special Requirements Employees in this classification will be required to provide the facility with a telephone number at which they can be reached. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits. Leave may be granted to a contractual employee at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year. GRADE INDV 0019 LOCATION OF POSITION MDH St. Mary's County Health Department 21580 Peabody Street Leonardtown, MD 20650 Main Purpose of Job The main purpose of this part-time contractual position will be to provide comprehensive, evidence-based psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to clients served by the School-Based Health Center. This position will support the agency's mission by promoting early identification and treatment of behavioral health needs, reducing barriers to care, and improving students' emotional well-being, academic success, and overall functioning. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the psychiatric nurse practitioner will also collaborate with medical providers, behavioral health clinicians, school personnel, families and community partners to deliver coordinated, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed care in a safe and supportive environment. In addition, the psychiatric nurse practitioner will serve as the clinical lead of the SBHC BH team, providing oversight, consultation, and coordination of care to ensure integrated, high-quality services for students.
