Preferred Qualifications 6 months of clerical experience and experience related to patient care. Active certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Healthcare Association (NHA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through the American Medical Technologists (AMT). Possesses one of the following: 1 year of work experience in medical billing, patient registration, and/or patient scheduling. Education related to medical billing, patient registration, and/or patient scheduling from an accredited institution. Possess a current certification as a Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) from the National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM). Experience calculating proper dosage and administering specific medications under the direction of the provider, particularly pediatric immunizations, and converting across measurement systems. Experience performing point of care testing, CLIA waived testing, wound care, dressing changes, specimen collection, and phlebotomy. Experience assisting with various procedures and tests, such as pulmonary function tests. Experience with Epic In-Basket management For ENT, Ortho, and Surgery Clinics: Experience assisting with external fixator removal, flex sigmoidoscopy, hemorrhoid banding, collars, cast removal, incision & drainage, cystoscopy set up and clean up, thyroid fine needle aspiration biopsy, reductions, and splint placement.
