JOB DESCRIPTION Summary The position works under the direction of, and in collaboration with the Acute Care/Emergency Department, Director of Nursing, and providers, to ensure quality patient care and compliance with regulatory standards for the area. The position will provide oversight to nursing care while leading, coaching, mentoring, and instructing clinical staff. This will include assistance in providing orientation and ongoing training and development. The ADON will provide clinical assistance during times of high volume, high patient acuity, or emergency call-ins until a replacement can be determined. The job requires highly professional communication with patients, families, medical staff, ancillary departments and administration. Other major job functions include collection and reporting of quality data, documentation audits, rounding on patients and staff, and monitoring variances from expected outcomes. Participate in the development and planning of goals and objectives related to trauma care. Coordinate and participate in Trauma committee and complete chart review process through tertiary review. Collaborate with finance for monitoring of trauma and stroke patient financial reimbursement issues as directed by DON. Participate in the budget process: anticipate trends, future needs of the trauma program. Serves as a liaison to administration, representing the Trauma and Stroke Program on various hospital and community committees to enhance and foster a fiscally sound Trauma and Stroke Program. CA's have knowledge of and utilize appropriate age-related protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of clients from infant/child through geriatrics. Summary The Cardiac Stress Testing Nurse is responsible for coordinating and providing nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac stress testing. This position works closely with clinic providers, same day surgery staff, and the cardiac rehabilitation program to ensure safe, efficient, and patient centered care. The nurse will assist in patient preparation, monitoring, and post-test recovery while maintaining compliance with all hospital, state, and federal standards. Prepare patients for testing, including history review, IV insertion, and patient education. Monitor patient vial signs and cardiac rhythm during stress testing and recovery. Recognize and respond promptly to any adverse patient conditions or complications. Ensure that medications required for procedures, recovery and treatment of symptoms are readily available. Document all aspects of patient care accurately in the medical record. Ensure proper equipment function, supplies, and safety checks for the stress testing environment.
