Summary

The Cardiac Stress Testing Nurse is responsible for coordinating and providing nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac stress testing. This position works closely with clinic providers, same day surgery staff, and the cardiac rehabilitation program to ensure safe, efficient, and patient centered care. The nurse will assist in patient preparation, monitoring, and post-test recovery while maintaining compliance with all hospital, state, and federal standards.

  • Collaborate with providers in the clinic, cardiac rehab, and same day surgery teams to coordinate cardiac stress testing.
  • Prepare patients for testing, including history review, IV insertion, and patient education.
  • Monitor patient vial signs and cardiac rhythm during stress testing and recovery.
  • Recognize and respond promptly to any adverse patient conditions or complications.
  • Ensure that medications required for procedures, recovery and treatment of symptoms are readily available.
  • Document all aspects of patient care accurately in the medical record.
  • Ensure proper equipment function, supplies, and safety checks for the stress testing environment.
  • Provide support to same day surgery and cardiac rehab staff as needed when not performing stress testing.
  • Consistently portrays an image of excellence in service to assure a department image of excellence.
  • Participate in quality improvement, safety, and compliance initiatives.

Required Education and Experience

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Minnesota
